In the last few weeks, I acquired POC Jungle Duke, 30th Viper, Dark Ninja, and the mind-blowing 3-pack Firefly.
My Renegades Storm Shadow is standing front and center next to POC wave 3 "Ultimate" Snake Eyes. I have a ton of vintage figures, all the best versions of all my favorite characters, but they're in a box in my parents' closet. Here in my room in Japan, I have just the best of the best....1984 Storm Shadow. 1985 Snake Eyes. 1985 Crimson Guard. I am extremely eager to get a few figures in the next wave...Ultimate Cobra Commander and Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes and the new CG. And after that.....well, I'm honestly gonna feel "complete." It's not the first time. I've felt this way when I got all the vintage figures I wanted. Then I got all the ARAH figures I was interested in. GI Joe VS Cobra opened a whole new can of worms, and I collected for years, until I finally got the V vs V Snake Eyes with the Tim Bradstreet style sculpt. And then I was done for a year or so. Until Sigma Six. And of course the 25th. And the 25th stretched into ROC and POC and Resolute and Renegades and 30th and Retaliation. But for real....I really really think I'm good for now. Unless they drastically change scales again like S6, there's only so many times they can tweak the same characters enough that I'll feel obligated to buy them. Hell, the new Ultimate figures are juuuuuuust barely better than the 25th/Hall of Heroes versions I already have!! Anyone else at a point where they can sit back and take a break from Joe for a while? And if so, is that a good or bad thing? I don't mind taking a break myself...I spend too much on toys and I'm running out of room! Still....it's nice to always have stuff to look forward to. (If they ever produce that 88 Storm Shadow from the concept case, that one WILL pull me right back in!!) |

i am with you. i can add some here and there, but the bulk of my collection is well taken care of.
ive begun creeping into the post sunbow ARAH stuff. but i will be very choosey in that era. some of it looks cool though. ive got my eye on sideshow for their upcoming releases and my transformers collection is still going strong.

I will never be done, but that probably stems in large part from the fact that I use most figures as kitbash fodder.

I'm done with my collection. I've got all the vintage Joes I want. Now I don't want them anymore. 1982-83 is on eBay right now. Quite the troll post, I know.
Maybe I'll do Modern Era again for the 50th anniversary. |

I'm far from done. I still have lots of vintage vehicles still to get and as long as they keep making great figs of old characters that look like there originals (Ultimate SE, Ultimate Cobra Commander, Night Viper, ETC…) I will continue to buy.
I will keep collecting at least until my kids grow out of playing with toys. Maybe even beyond. |

I'm more or less satisfied, too. At least enough to not scour eBay all the time and all that nonsense. I'm satisfied with my vintage collection enough that I can rely on waiting for Joecon or some other show and get what I need in person so I don't have to worry about condition or shipping. I've also amassed enough "extras" to trade instead of buy, for the most part.
I mean, at some point I'd like a minty Flagg, blue SNAKE, gold-head Steel Brigade and a few other things, but no hurry, right? I'm still young and collecting is a long-term hobby. And as for the new stuff, I'm pretty satisfied too. Whether RAH-inspired or new, I'm getting pretty picky as to what I will get - and for the most part, I can trade for that too, as long as I'm patient. (I'm looking at you, FSS figs!)

Yuppo... I'm super content with my little collection of 25th Joes... TTT Sarge, SDCC Jinx and Alpine are missing, but I can live without those.
I made the decision pretty early on to mostly just collect Joes and not Cobra (never liked Cobra as a kid... my ARAH Night Viper and AV were part of my Joe squad, lol), so that made things a lot easier... once I got the 2nd Joe 5 pack and I finally got my Lady Jaye and Flint figs (wave 1 Flint was like impossible to find early on), pretty much everything after that was icing on the cake. 2nd decision was to only buy very few vehicles... every vehicle I bought I did so on clearance or from like discount stores. 3rd decision I made was not to go all in on ROC, POC Renegades, 30th or Retaliation... just bought a few figs here and there... mostly SEs... POC Low-Light and 30th Lifeline were must buys though. So now if it doesn't fit with either my 25th Joes or my SE display... I don't need it.

Always content. Never complete. Usually when Joe product is in a drought I'll move to MU or star wars and play catch up. But I'm always looking for that one piece or figure to finish that dio.
