I havent found a perfect fit, because both cockpit sizes and the sizes of 3.75 joes vary.
The closest option i have found is 1/18th. |

There is no perfect answer. 1/18 in the modelling world is technically right. But most joes will simply not fit. 1/16 is ok as a compromise. Slightly large, but at least figures usually fit. 1:16 is much less common.

As above, Joes are technically 1:18. This doesn't mean that all 1:18 pax will fit.
A big part of the problem is that 1:18 vehicles are designed to look right on the outside, but less attention is given to the inside. They are usually marketed to auto fans and not intended to host action figures. I owned a 1:18 scale HUMVEE once, but the only figure that could fit was the turret gunner. The other problem is that humans are normally more flexible than action figures. Putting a hard plastic figure on a hard plastic seat is kind of problematic. Unless the toy was specifically designed to fit action figures from the beginning, they are unlikely to fit. (Lord knows, I can barely fit in a real-life HMMWV) BTW, if you ever check out a GI Joe vehicle you'll notice that they are nowhere near 1:18 scale. Most Joe vehicles are significantly undersized compared to their real-life counterparts, and have massively oversized cockpits / crew areas. If every Joe-sized aircraft was accurate scale, they would take up most of your coffee table and cost hundreds of dollars. Last edited by solosam; 09-12-2015 at 07:31 PM.. |
