Beyond Joe Colton, and to an extent Jane, was the rest of the team ever named?
This is what Ive been able to come up with so far. Joe Colton (Soldier) John Steele (Man of Action) Rocky (Marine) "Ace" (Air Adventurer) "Skip" (Sea Adventurer) Mike Triumph (Commander) Tom Stone (Adventurer) "Sarge" (Air Adventurer) Greg (Adventurer) (Arctic Adventurer) (Astronaught) Agent X-7 (Air Adventurer) Mike Power Jane (Nurse) |

Actually GI Nurse was not a member of the Adventure Team. GI Nurse was released in 1967.
In 1969, the Adventures of GI Joe was released with four members; Adventurer, Adventurer (African American), The Aquanaut and the Talking Astronaut. In 1970, the Adventure Team proper was introduced but no one had actual code names until Mike Power Atomic Man and Bullet Man showed up. The names given to the Adventure Team (Tom Stone, John Steel, etc) were used by the Club and were taken from the Foreign Adventure Team lines (Action Star from Germany, Action Team from France, etc). The names you mentioned Sarge, Greg, Mike etc came from the GI Joe Adventure Team Viewmaster reel and Agent X-7 from one of the comics. Mike Triumph came from the inserts and Hasbro promotional material declaring him the Adventure Team Commander. |

From the Viewmaster Reels
Man of Action - Joe Adventure Team Commander - Commander Air Adventurer - Sarge Land Adventurer - Diego Adventurer (AA) - Greg In one of the record books, there was a Radio Operator called 'Mike' and some in the 12" community reckon he was a pre-accident Mike Power. According to John Michlig, the proposed Adventure Team were; Jimmy (the youngest team member) Doc (the Medic) Big Red (the Red Headed Adventurer) The Swede (Foreign Expatriate Adventurer) Hope this all helps, would you like information on the Foreign releases (which is where the club got the names from) ??? Tyroc, do you have any other of the Clubs names for the Villains?
I have Men of Evil (I know there was the Club figure with the patch, was he given a specific name?) Black Spider (I know this was an AT member undercover, but there had to be someone he was actually posing as) Mr. Sebastian Gorman |
