I probably have done 75% of the nominations for Long Range. I was intending the Thunderclap driver.

Okay, so does it bother anyone else that the 6 inch fantasy poll gets front paged while our little poll that could....which has gone on for at least a year and a half now and is up to 262 (!) gets no attention. Maybe if this would be front paged, we could get some more participation/discussion, etc. The 6 inch poll is about as much fantasy as a "who would like it if GI Joes were under a dollar" poll. Aint gonna happen. I think the Ultimate 6 inch poll would pretty much fall in line with what our poll has done anyway...

But this poll has no impact on any future toy releases.
I think a most-wanted modern-era figure poll is more important than 6" and should be front-paged. The site should sponsor one of those once every year or so. But IZ's had trouble keeping that one running on a regular schedule. |

There's no way a niche market, let alone with established cheepskates as a predominant portion of the membership, is going to be able to support it, regardless of how 'cool' a 6 inch line might look. Its also ONLY hisstank that keeps pumping the idea. No other site or facebook group could care less about the idea. Not sure who it is who's obsessed with it. Quote:

The problem is this poll doesn't cover costume changes and penalizes troopers, so it's a bad metric for determining figures to make in those categories.

Troopers are troopers. Can't remember a time in recent Joe retail history when I ever saw peg warming troopers. They always get snatched up.
As to the poll's impact on what figures get made....well, I think the Club might be paying attention. Look at their selections for the next FSS. Billy, Pythona,,,it is like they are trying to fill some of those spots on our top 100, then look at the following 50 after that. Several more selections made from there (Pathfinder, Bullhorn, Sneak Peek and Interrogator). I wouldn't be too surprised if they took a look at it. All tied up between Stone and Star Viper....go Star Viper! Last edited by Bub; 08-14-2015 at 07:28 AM.. |
