Trying to make a place for them in the Marvel Universe, connections with S.H.I.E.L.D. and all, Im thinking they would fit better in the DC universe.
With Suicide Squad, Blackhawks, Checkmate, A.R.G.U.S., and teams like Wetworks, Team Zero, One and 7, and with Sgt, Rock and M.A.S.K. already having figures in the Joe mythos. What do other people think. |

I wouldnt put them in either to be honest, I prefer to add them to their own universe along with
Transformers, Action Force, M.A.S.K., Centurions, Jem, Inhumaniods, Zoids, Starcom, Ring Raiders, Gobots, Action Man, Corps, TMNT, Visionaries, Thundercats, Cops, Galaxy Rangers, Dino Riders, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Gi Joe Extreme, Sky Commanders, Silverhawks, Bionic Six, Rambo Force of Freedom, She Ra, Real Ghostbusters, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Spiral Zone, Dungeons & Dragons, Karate Commandos, Bravestar and He Man. A universe of 1970s, 1980s and 1990s cartoons and toy lines.

Marvel for me. Since Larry Hama modified a SHIELD pitch for them, they would work well as a specialized non-superhero related counter terrorism branch of SHIELD

I would keep it in Marvel. If any crossovers were to occur, let it be with SHIELD. SHIELD would function as the main branch, with the Joes working as their black ops and counter-terrorism unit.

For me the Joes along with TF belong in the MU. Although I wouldn't have them mixing with the likes of the Avengers or Xmen but an occasional run in with Shield, Hydra, Aim and the Serpent Society etc. I don't think i would want a full blown crossover But I like the idea of keeping them loosely tied in. I could see Cobra buying, selling weapons and tech from Aim and Hydra. Sheild could even be tied in this way or Fury could even have connections with the likes of Gen Hawk, Gen Flagg.

I wouldn't use GI Joe with anything other than Action Force and maybe Action Man, personally. If I was to do anything, it'd be to have alternate versions of some characters from outside the 'verse in GI Joe, AF or the regular military forces, like Soap, Price, Ghost and the Delta team from Modern Warfare, or Blaine, Bob, Mack, Grey, Hector or Sam from The Unit, or Stonebridge and Scott from Strike Back or maybe Lennox from the Transformers movies.
(I have, I admit, got plans for four Steel Brigade troopers to pop up in one of my stories who're named after the call-signs of Blaine, Bob, Mack and Sam from The Unit) |
