From 0-10, 0 being the lowest possible (not interested/hate the idea), how would you rate a GI Joe Masterpiece series akin to Takara Transformers Masterpiece?
For those not familiar with it, the Takara Transformers Masterpiece series is made of highly detailed, well-sculpted and well-scaled G1 Transformers (that's the 80s Transformers). I mean plastic figures, maybe with die-cast details, with accurate accessories and cartoon/comic book/original toy release looks. I'm aware of the beautiful Sideshow figures, but what I have in mind is a line made entirely out of plastic, with no cloth of any kind. EDIT: I was thinking of something in the 10-12 inch scale, not as expensive as Transformers (which are much chunkier), maybe 1/3 to 2/3 of a single TF (like Prowl or Wheeljack, not Optimus Prime size) Last edited by Artifex; 07-12-2015 at 01:58 PM.. |

Do these come with the TF masterpiece price tag? Those tend to cost a lot. I'm not sure if they'd be worth it for me, especially if the were in 3.75" scale.

It would depend on the scale. I'm not really interested in anything that isn't compatible in size with 3.75" figures.

No, i dont think I would. I think you mean kind of like what Sideshow started making, they didn't seem to last as long as they should have. I bought 8 or so, but we're very expensive and seem to keep getting higher in cost. Or like the Gentle Giant jumbo 82 Joes that are coming out now. I prefer to stick to 1:18 scale.

I prefer Joe in the 4in scale. With that said I would go for a more detail oriented product even if it ment a higher price tag.

Opps! I voted an 8 because I failed to read the entire entry...I would have voted a 1, if I had read the note about them being 10-12 " high.
I live/collect by the 3.75" scale...I have no need to collect the same characters over again in a larger/smaller scale size. I presumed the thread was for 3.75" scale, but a really fine detailed figure collection( I was hoping about a 5-7 figure set for GI Joe and Cobra). |

i like the 4 inch stuff. i could do a 6 inch black type line. i have bought a lot of sideshow stuff in the 12 inch scale. I'm not interested in any other styles.

I voted no, as I'm not really down for a scale change. I kind of interpret all the new figures we get as masterpiece because I don't have them yet.

Would very much like a 6 inch Classics line and would pay appropriately for my favorite characters.
