My son wanted to cosplay at JOECON and we planned out a neat Duke costume for him. We couldn't find a weapon we liked so we decided to make one.
I had this scrap lumber to use as a base. I messed up the routed foregrip so I tried this. This looked better. Added some more details, dad is getting too involved. |

Base coat.
Detail paint. I wanted to keep this tip, I like the "laser" look but it just made the rifle too long and less child sized. I had to saw it off The finished rifle, I added a sling later. As a dad I knew he would get tired of carrying it. This project was 100% made of junk, the only thing I bought was a can of paint. We didn't make a measurements, it was all done by eye and isn't perfect. Last edited by YT74; 05-01-2015 at 10:52 PM.. |

Very nice work but that cobra commander needs some "JENNY CRAIG " . When i was a kid my dad made me many guns like that it works on many levels .

Sweet! I really liked this rifle when i first saw it with Snow Job, but it lost it's effect on me when I saw every joe using one in the Sunbow series. Whatever, still a great job on creating that for your son.

Cool. If a kid is going to cosplay Duke, this is the only option. To echo Mr. Hebime, I thought it was really cool until Sunbow gave it to every Swinging Richard to avoid real bullets that put real holes in people. The funny thing, it looks like a well balanced handy rifle.
This wooden one is even better. |
