You could argue that Storm shadow and Zartan was where GI Joe started to Jump The Shark, even though they are two of my most favorite characters.

It jumped the shark with Cobra. If they had never started Cobra, most of the figures on that shelf wouldn't exist.
Technically it jumped the shark with Snake-Eyes. Never would've gotten Ninja Force if they hadn't started with Snake-Eyes. Should've called it quits with the greenshirts. |

Zartan with Zandar and Zarana. First gimmick figures ?
I'd be great to find some that are " stuck" in the color change, for display Btw the Chameleon swamp skier also changed color in the sun. Last edited by Indiana Joe; 06-29-2015 at 10:16 AM.. |

I have to go with Cobra-La, since they were the first on that list to appear. 1987 was the very last year I bought Joes as a kid, with the Slaughter's Renegades 3 pack being the last thing I ever got. When I saw the Cobra-La figures in the store, I was done.
On a side note, I remember a Jamesway store near me still had a bunch of those Cobra-La 3 packs well into 1990...I guess I wasn't the only kid around that thought they were terrible. |
