I’ve been remiss in doing some celebrating and reflecting (beyond what I do every day) about the history of my favorite toy line. As we near the end of this 50th anniversary of the first action figure, I began to think it would be a nice thought experiment to pick out 50 of my favorite items from GI Joe’s 50 years. I’m breaking it up according to Joe’s transitions through the decades, just to make sure I represent the entirety of the line.
It's a madcap dash to the end of 2014, with a new post covering each successive era of GI Joe. Going through these lightning lists have really brought to my mind the depth and breadth of the brand. Having covered some GI Joe item for 3 1/2 years, I knew there was a lot of material that could be covered, but once I began to look across all of the scales and eras, it's a truly vast amount of toys. Wow. The 60s-70s and the Real American Hero periods are already up. Later tonight, we'll visit the late 90s through the end of DTC. Join us! Day 1: 50 Favorites from 50 Years of GI Joe: Day 1 » Day 2: 50 Favorites from 50 Years of GI Joe: Day 2 »

Very cool, glad I stepped away from the nights festivities for a moment to catch this.
