I think Frostbite would be just way too hot a figure to waste on the mystery slot. Someone like that should be promoted as a main subscription figure. That would be like making Big Boa the mystery figure in FSS 1 instead of Blackout. And to tell non-subscribers they have no chance to buy Frostbite unless they gambled on the subscription is not fair to them. The subscription offered nothing for fans of the Sunbow-era Joes so asking them to buy into it for only one figure isn't fair. Now Tiger Force Frostbite as the sub figure would be fine.
I think people would be fine with Slash as the mystery fig, just like Blackout. Cyborg Overkill might be too hot to waste on the mystery fig. Medi-Viper, like any army builder, would be a terrible choice to give people no way to buy extras of directly. Medi-Viper and Scalpel make sense as convention villains in the same boxed set, due to the mold reuse, just like they did with Frag-Vipers and Letal. They would be excellent choices for any con set at this point. Can't remember who Dart, Crosshair or Switch Gears are. Looks from YoJoe like the first two would be good choices for a mystery figure. Switch Gears probably doesn't need to be remade. Pretty bland and the code name sucks. I don't know what repaints of Darklon or Claymore they could do. I can't think of any different versions of them I'd want. I wouldn't want a new color scheme made up from nowhere just as a pretense for rereleasing the figure. I don't want any "slightly improved" sculpts of them either. There are too few figures being made now to waste a slot on a resculpt of a figure a lot of us already have. Add Dragonsky and Stormavik.
For those of you who enjoyed G.I. Joe: First Salvo (and maybe those who haven't picked it up yet), I thought I'd mention that G.I. Joe:Honor will be submitted before midnight tomorrow night. Depending upon how long it takes to be reviewed, I hope it is available for purchase by mid-January. |

On a side note, what would you rank as the most important joe mediums? I'd put the toys first, Marvel 2nd, sunbow 3rd, live-action 4, sigma six 5, renegades 6, resolute 7, IDW Hama 8, DDP 9, modern IDW 10...
