If that ever happens to me, I'll look at it as a sure sign I have too much shit I apparently don't care about. If I can forget I own it, it obviously doesn't matter that much to me.

I pretty much remember all the Joes I had as a child, as well as Star Wars, Transformers, and other lines from the 80s. I bought a lot of stuff in the 90s that I lost track off, and every once in a while, I'll go through a bin in the garage and find something I forgot about and be "Oh wow! I forgot I had this!"

Nice topic because I just pulled out my collection out of storage, I have hardly any OG figures, mines are mainly 25th anniversary (I attended the convention in Georgia) & it's the original feel I want, these new figures are cool but nothing beats the original, word up!!

I still have some of my old 1980s G.I. Joe figures in pieces. If I knew then what I know now I could have had my parents buy me those small rubber plumber O rings to put them back together.
all I have left of my old Repeater figure is his crotch and maybe a head and thats it. I still have an old early 1990s Roadblock where those figure came with those plastic tree things witih blue/green/yellow weapons. Need an O ring to put him back together lol |

I guess I do it with gear and lil bit but I NEVER forget any figure I buy. I may misplace it for a long time but I remember it as soon as I see it.

Ha! This reminds me of my dumbass brother-in-law. I borrowed a dvd and when I returned it he had bought it again because he forgot he had it. It is a sign that you have too much. I too have a weird recall when it comes to joes in my life.

Yeah it happens to me alot and not only with GI Joe. I go on eBay searching for a figure or parts for my RC hobby only to find that I have it already. It's a sign I need to start cleaning and taking inventory

I just moved and finally have a nice big area to display my collection, so I am in the process of putting them up. It's a blast because I am finding all kinds of figures I had forgotten about! However sorting gear for and standing up 4000+ figures is a major Pain in the *ss. I suspect it might take me at least a few months to get them all finished.

I remember all the figures I had as a child, and which weapons and gear went with them, but can't say the same for the modern figures I've bought, mainly as I don't play with them anything like as much (or at all these days; if only!) and often buy in batches unlike the "saving pocket money as a child" method.
