Man, I had no idea they made a G.I.Joe trading card game. I only found out about it recently.
And by "found out about it" I mean bought a bunch of cards off ebay. I've never been a TCG fan -- I've played Magic a couple of times with borrowed decks -- but I've always be a little interested. Had I known about the Joe one when it came out, well..I would have bought it then instead of now. Now, I need to figure out how to make custom cards... -d

It came out around 2004 I think, there were only two sets made, the base set and the Armored Strike set. If you want to check out all of the cards that were available, there is a full gallery here:
GI Joe Trading Card Game - Gallery One day I'd like to finish out my collection, I am missing a few cards from Armored Strike, but the game itself was pretty uninspired. I was playing 4-5 different card games at the time and it was by far the simplest of the bunch. Great art though, I enjoyed it for what it was.

Of course, it looks like about half the ones I'm missing are Rares that are way overpriced for a such an old game. *sigh* -c

The lot of cards I bought had all but 30 or so cards, so I've had the chance to try it out. I've played a couple of games and it's kind of fun. Enough to entertain myself and maybe play with the kids.

True. In '04, I hadn't gotten back into G.I.Joe again, so I probably wouldn't have paid much attention anyways.
Now I kind of regret my years of ignore the Joes. Although, that gives me plenty of stuff to go back an discover now. -c

I completed my set a few years ago - had to buy an unopened Valor v Venom vhs tape on eBay to get the Venomous Maximus card.
Love the artwork and variety of characters, but the game itself was pretty lame. |

I found some of the art choices odd. Why is Duke shown many times wearing the Wal-Mart exclusive Snake-Eyes repaint outfit? Combat Camo Roadblock?
