MOD EDIT - Can you be any more condescending? Maybe there's a better way to advise someone that you disagree with the action they're trying to take.
http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...s-read-me.html 1. No trolling, or flaming. Any form of personal insult is a no-no. As a basic rule of thumb: if you think that what you are about to post is insulting, don't post it. No posting with the intent of starting "Drama". If you feel the need to start trouble, go elsewhere. 3. No harassing board members. This goes for either in posts on the boards (see rule #1) or in private messages. People, if you care, don't be lazy, take the time, find out the retail toy buyers contact info and contact them. That will get more Joes made. Not emailing Hasbro's general information box. |

Realistically, the best course of action is NOT to write to Hasbro. They are largely at the mercy of the big retailers on most large scale products.
The most pragmatic solution would be to start writing to Walmart, Target, Sears/Kmart, and the like and get THEM to show an interest in GI Joe again. Hasbro will make almost anything if retailers ask for it/order it, but most retailers aren't asking for GI Joe right now.

I think the best thing to do is to convince kids to buy more Joes.

Toys are about emotions -- creating excitement in kids about wanting to live out a specific concept that the toy represents. You can't convince a child that they should like a concept, it has to appeal to their emotion. Beyond that, the kid buying the toy is actually the last step of the equation because they can't actually buy it until it hits the market. The first step is create a concept that will excite children. Second step is convincing buyers, who have to be reasoned with pragmatically, to buy the toy. The last step is for children to buy it. |

You can't convince kids to want to buy any toy. It isn't a pragmatic decision in which kids are explained the rationale reasons to want to play with a specific toy.
