Hey Everyone,
So, today I met a couple of guys while purchasing a spool for a makerbot. The guys were talking about the upcoming Transformers Jetfire figure, so I of course had to nudge myself in to their conversation. They were really down to Earth guys and I had quite the fun time speaking with them. Now, with that said, here was the really cool part - I asked what they were buying their spools for and they had mentioned that they want to create a 1/18th scale transforming vehicle line. I quickly pulled out my phone and showed them some of the amazing customs done by Dr. Vile, Phantro and others who have tackled this kind of project in the past. They of course thought the work was awesome, but they were going a different route - using a Joe/Cobra vehicle as the base and then turning that in to a functioning transforming robot. I joked and said "insert shut up and take my money meme here" and one of the gents stated "yeah, we're going to start off with something small, maybe something like a cobra quad that turns in to a robot, or a Joe small attack boat...just something smaller." I asked if they would go public with their new offering and they said that they were considering starting a kickstarter (if/when that time comes). Now, here's my question to you all: If the price was right and it was a vehicle that you were interested in, would you support that kind of kickstarter project? Would you skip it all together because bots just aren't your thing? Discuss! |

Right?! They seemed really excited about it, but it seemed that it was more of a personal project than a grand scale thing. I really hope they're able to get something off the ground, I would learn how to backflip for something like a Ferret that transformed. |

I could not throw my money at that fast enough. That is probably something we've all dreamed of since 1984.
