Naw... that wasn't my point... I just don't see many older people with toys... but picturing me 86 years old with Cobra stickers on the back of my wheel chair and a GI Joe tee in my dresser drawer next to my polident is weird to me, hahaahaha
Also the internet in the future will be thought controlled. Nuff said!

I'm 40.
I started getting Joes when in 1982. Collected and played with them till about 9th grade or so. Continued collecting them till I graduated in 1992 and left for the Coast Guard. I restarted collecting them in 2007 with the release of the 25th anniversary line- and been collecting them again ever sense- don't plan on stopping either. I don't look at them as toys anymore- They are a form of Artwork to me- I have my vintage collection of figures behind glass, and all the new ones have been bagged and removed- to be displayed in dioramas sometime when I have the time to properly build appropriate display cases... I am proud to say I have a 4 y/o dauhter- who likes the girls, knows who the bad guys and the good guys are- knows who Cobra is- but really isn't interested- so I've been busy building houses for Strawberry Shortcake, and other little girl stuff- and I love it. I also now have a 1 y/o son. In time he may- or may not find interest in my GI Joe hobby- and if he does he'll play with a shit load of Joes... To me- they are a form of Art- that's why I collect them. My collection is ever changing...recently sold off my entire Sideshow collection- made some good money off them too- decided it's stupid to have toys that cost so much that can't be played with... My wife is fine with me collecting- she knows I balance my purchases with selling stuff on Ebay and it's better then hanging out at the bar...

Also the internet in the future will be thought controlled. Nuff said! I am sure that in 40 years there will be retirement homes full of old men and women playing video games, watching old HBO shows on repeat and doing everything that they did for fun when they were younger. Most of them won't be collecting action figures, but you probably won't be the only one. There will be 80 year olds debating Starwars and Game of Thrones and listening to rap music or whatever they grew up on. We won't just be sitting around asking each other "So where were you on 9/11?" |

Our generation is the one that allowed itself to continue playing as adults.

At that point, having low hanging pants will be socially acceptable.
