Am I the only one that gets bothered by Hasbro re-packing classic/25th style figures with the ROC movie toys?
I'm sure loose collectors don't mind the packaging as long they get the figure they want but I'm a MOC collector. Why would I want Monkeywrench on a ROC card? I'm pretty sure he's not in the movie and if he is, he's not going to be wearing his classic outfit. In my opinion, movie packaging should be for movie figures. Anyone with me on this one? |

But they are movie figures. They're part of the expanded universe of the movie.
Think of the ones shown in the movie as the base, and it expands from there. The RoC line IS NOT FOR THE COLLECTOR, it's for the toy player. edit: I'm not a big MOC guy, have some (Varients and ones that I want to disply MOC that have meaning to me), but there's some movie stuff I want to get MOC.

Same here. Also I really like that Gung-Ho. It reminds me enough of Resolute GH that I'll just consider it that.

I don't mind a few, but more repaints is kinda a bummer. At least change some of the parts or something. I really just want more Joes to come out so I won't complain too much. Plus I like the new packaging a lot more than the classic stuff. The classic style packaging was good for the 25th line. When they started making new figures using the classic style packaging it just didn't seem to fit.

It all comes down to marketing. Hasbro knows us modern era guys won't touch the movie stuff, so what better way then to release the figure we want with the movie line, forcing you to buy the 2-pack because we gots to have the latest plastic crack!

It is annoying. Why not attempt both lines (Modern Era and Movie) if they intend to do that.
Oh I know why..nobody would buy the movie line. I foresee Hbro double dipping like they are already doing and releasing some of those Wally exclusives on single cards way later like on W16 or something.
