It is annoying. Why not attempt both lines (Modern Era and Movie) if they intend to do that.
Oh I know why..nobody would buy the movie line. I foresee Hbro double dipping like they are already doing and releasing some of those Wally exclusives on single cards way later like on W16 or something.

Personally, I don't care what the box looks like so long as the figures are worth having. |

It irritates me to a degree... I'm a MOSC collector AND opener. I generally buy one of each carded/boxed, just to have in packaging, and I buy openers—multiples sometimes—if they're army builders or useful for a custom, of the ones I want.
The packaging difference is enough that I won't even bother collecting any MISB movie figures, but if there are some classic guys snuck in, I'll definitely get them to open. Saves me money actually, but I hate the movie packaging. The main reason I collect the 25th stuff in packaging is because I love that old artwork. The new stuff looks terribly overdone, if you ask me. Also, look at it this way... Repaints, sometimes, save you painting on customs, that way you can get playable customs with as little paint as possible. For example, the new Night Force Tunnel Rat serves 2 purposes. 1) If you're a fan of Night Force, there's your TR. 2) If you're not a fan of pure repaint subgroups, like me, then I am going to use that Tunnel Rat torso so I can finally have a non-painted Flint with an open collar. All I need to paint is the pants part of the torso, and voila. Personally, yes, I agree with you, and I'd rather see classic stuff released in classic packaging. But if we're getting mostly repaints, it can't hurt. I just won't buy it, because I already have my ideal paint scheme in classic packaging. |

YAAAAAAAY....for....ummmmmm....repaints, yeah.
In truth, I'm slightly disturbed by it, but at least they come with new paint schemes. And it's a good opportunity for people to catch up on their collections, especially if they're a customizer. All it means to me is that I'm not going to get every single one. I think it'd be kinda cool to have a camo scheme BBQ, though. More selection and less pressure to buy is kind of a relief.

Yep, annoys me, although the Gung Ho looks like Resolute Gung Ho, so I'm down with that...

I open, but I hear you.
It just makes more sense economically to have one, cohesive line. As important as we are as consumers, we are insignificant compared to the parents, grandparents, kids, and casual fans that will be buying the bulk of these. I'm glad that some stuff that would have perhaps been cancelled is being snuck into the movie line. At least it's not such an extreme change in style, like the movie transformers, that all the offscreen characters have to adhere to a certain design This is going to give custom carders a whole lot to work with. |

i just assumed these figures would be in the movie breifly.just because you only know certain joes that are in the movie doesnt mean there wont be a bunch of familiar faces on the cobra side. i figured monkey wrench and scrap iron would be in the movie along with all those stupid cobra troops that look like aliens
