If ... IF ... they had done it as more of a Special Missions "horror story" spin-off in the fall of the year, it could've been fun. With all the epic storytelling that came before, Ripcord ejecting over Cobra Island, Ripcord v. Zartan, the Joes invading Cobra Island, Baroness shooting Storm Shadow dead, Zartan v. Sgt Slaughter in the Pit, even Ripcord posing as Zartan, that was all far more interesting to me. Serpentor was an even bigger dipshit in the cartoon. I like the brainwave scanner, but I'd have plugged other characters into it and let Stalker provide all the necessary back story that Snake-Eyes ever required because that was Grade-A Hama storytelling. |
