It's not much but I've always remembered ever since I first saw the DiC episode "United We Stand" back in grade 4, and seeing Pathfinder walking into the main part of the underground lab, by himself, confronting Cobra Commander and saying "Well whaddaya know? Cobra Commander's personal chemistry set!".

I can't remember the issue # but its when Hawk jumps on the back of a Hiss and starts trading blows with Destro...Cobra Commander can't decide who he wants to shoot and finally puts several rounds into Hawk who falls off the Hiss...I thought how bada$$ Hawk was, how ruthless CC was and interesting Destro was (he was all distraught after witnessing what he thought was the Baroness' death).
Three cool characters.

I never was that much of a fan of Storm Shadow. But Marvel #38 was a great comic, and the scene where Storm Shadow faced off with Destro always stood out to me.
There are more, I'm sure, but that scene where Destro tells SS that "even you can't out-run a bullet." SS's reply? "Oh no?" Bull rushes Destro, and even takes Billy along for the ride. He didn't have to out-run a bullet. He just had to out-run Destro.

It's hard to pick, because I don't recall anything really standing out, except for when I saw the 87 movie for the first time. I was mesmerized. It was, and still is, epic.

I loved the whole Kwinn, Venom, Snake Eyes storyline. May the bear and weasel spirit wrestle forever.

When Duke was "Killed" In the Movie, I ran out of the living room crying. it scared the hell out of me, and I was angry that they'd killed Duke. While he wasn't my favorite, I was attached to him because I had his figure, and he was one of the ones I got from my grandparents. He was special. It was only a few YEARS later that I watched it again.
The Funhouse one. Because I had never heard the word "Butt" on TV before. Airtight said it when he was going to go kick some "Snake Butt". it was awesome, and I knew that Kurt had gotten serious and had had enough dammit. Special Missions # 22 (Marvel) when Hit and Run and Shockwave along with Chuckles and Lady Jaye have a hostage situation in a farmhouse. TO this day, it remains one of my favorite stories of all time, DC, Marvel, etc. It was a great story. I remember when I was younger we were all at my grandparents house, playing a board game. I jokingly said that the winner would get to go to the gas station down the road and get a comic book with my Grandad. I won. he took us all to the gas station and they had exactly four comics, one for each grandkid. My sister and my 2 cousins got Capser and Archie, and I got a GIJoe Digest that had issues 2-4 in it. I still have it to this day and it remains one of the coolest covers in my opinion. This is a cool thread. |

G.I. Joe ARAH #55 (January 1987), simply because it had Low-Light in it and he was my favorite character at the time it came out.
That was the first comic book of any kind I bought on my own. I remember being completely jealous of a classmate (I was in fifth grade) who owned a copy, until I finally got my own at Toys R Us. I was so damn stoked. Incredibly, I've managed to still hold on to it for over 25 years.

Sorry for the double post but I saw this thereafter and had to reply.
Still the best GI Joe episode of all time, period.
