I think if it got a good budget it would do pretty well, at least they could use more characters than the films. It could be called Real American Heroes or Real Heroes. Maybe after Gi Joe 3, they could reboot Joe in this way.

Given the success of other shows like S.H.I.E.L.D., where entire worlds are explored and developed out as ideas for future tent pole films, I think you will see a lot of this moving forward for a lot of different big name brands. It makes sense for both the owner of the intellectual property and for the network, because they're hedging their bets by putting money into an established brand.

At this point, I don't want to see any new takes/versions of Joe until after the movie. They need to decide if they're going to continue the movie-verse or start Joe over again.

they could place it in the same continuity as ROC and Retaliation, have a small core cast and introduce more characters as guest stars or have characters from the movies show up. The only problem with that would be having a GI Joe show without DUke, SE, Flint, Roadblock... etc.

Unless Hasbro is willing to push the envelope a little and make a serious show possibly similar to Strike Back (without the gratuitous sex), I don't think it would have much success.
Keeping GI Joe "kid friendly" when kids are playing games like Call of Duty is hurting it.

a cross between Strike Back (minus the sex and swearing) and The Unit (minus the family life soap-operatics).
in other words: action, awesome and humour. |

Why not something like shield? Based in the same universe but different characters. They could have a whole different team and everyonce in a while have SE or Duke show up for some reason. Like if they are having issues with maybe Slice and Dice or something other ninja SE could guest star or something.

I dont think it could be out with the movies still be produced. I only say that because I don't see the actors from the movie playing the tv roles as well.
And as long as WB has nothing to do with it. I could maybe see it on cinemax or showtime. |

I'd rather there was a cartoon on Disney XD or Cartoon Network.
