It would never happen. Even if the movies were Oscar winners, the Toys sold like 1985, and Ronny Reagan rose from the grave to endorse it.... why?
Because we have way too many trolls in our fandom who would shit on it, even if it was great. |

I'd rather it be similar to SHIELD, with the tv show being the "B" team well the movie crew stays in the movie.
There's no need to pay the big guys to show up on the small screen. There's plenty of Joe characters to go around. Like SHIELD, the only ones that care that "names" aren't showing up are us and we're a small segment of the tv viewership.

I've been working on this idea for a few yrs, now, since ROC came out, here's a small part of my ideas
G.I. Joe: The Series Synopsis: This is concept for a live action television series based on the Hasbro Property G.I. Joe. It is set in the same universe as both live action films and would be used as a developmental property for characters for the continuing film series. Each season would be split roughly into 3 to 4 mission arcs or as many as needed to complete the story. We would follow a core team for each season. Along the way specific specialist characters could join for a particular part. There would also be 3 to 4 standalone/ character development episodes between arcs to brake-up the action and focus on specific characters/situations. There would be a 5 person permanent/semi-permanent cast plus the cast/team for the season. Also a few additional characters that either appeared previously in series or are playing new/recurring characters/specialists. Also several Special Guest Star roles for senior staff roles (i.e. General Joe Colton, General Hawk, General Austin etc.) The 5 regular cast would be: Captain Conrad S. Hauser; code name: Duke Sergeant Shana O’Hara; code name: Scarlett Assimilated 2nd Lieutenant Michelle LaChance; code name: Firewall (USMC) Staff Sergeant Gregory Stone: code name; Sgt. Stone Colonel Dexter Sharpe Additional characters: (recurring); Specialist Abel Shaz; code name: Breaker Sergeant Major Lonzo R. Wilkinson; code name Stalker Brain Storm: G.I. Joe Senior Technical Specialist; file name unknown Captain Alison “Jaye” Burnett; code name: Lady Jaye Brigadier General Maria Cortez; Code name: Angel de la Muerte (New international character) Brigadier General James Longstreet Flagg (The two Brigadiers would switch off each season as supervising general) |
