That's pretty sweet. I bought a full cabinet arcade game with all the original graphics on the side and everything. It was an ebay purchase for $400 and I drove 3 hours to his house and picked it up. Riding home 3 hours with this huge cabinet in the back seat was an experience I'll never forget. To get it to fit in my Jeep I had to put the driver's seat almost all the way forward. Still, it looks great in my GI Joe room and is one of my key showcase pieces.

Gijoe was a pretty solid game too. I beat that game when it was at an arcade in grand blanc.

What an awesome score! I used to play that machine when we rotated out of Camp Casey in Korea in the 90s of all places for it to show up! What an awesome game, enjoy blasting the hell outta waves of vipers.
And to the fella who mentioned Ikari, I say go for it instead of .50 cal. I had a standup Ikari and had it wired Jamma and it was the most versatile machine with the rotary joysticks and the monitor you could flip from horizontal to vertical as opposed to .50 cal which are optical joysticks. Very cool score with the joe game. |

What an awesome score! I remember playing hours and hours of this game and don't know why Konami didn't release this to Nintendo or Sega back in the day. I wish I had one to play now!

I have a cabinet, and did a pretty serious search before settling on a game, but I never once heard of this one! Great score man! Quote:

After seeing your post I downloaded the rom for MAME.
Havent played yet but looks sweet. BTW Did you notice that when all the Joes where being introduced, each character goes "Yo Joe!" ? Even Snake Eyes! The only reason I think they intend it being his voice is because when they introduce Scarlet a girls voice goes, "yo Joe!" Anyway A few years ago I had some lame ass arcade game at my house but it really set the room up. If only it was this game! You lucky fucker!!!

Has anyone come across any more info on these cabinets? I have the board in a 2 player cabinet. We set it up at my wedding reception. Works and sounds great, but I really want to know how many Konami made. arcade-museum.com lists 359 with 21 in the hands of Joe collectors. If someone could point me to a better site I would appreciate it.

Kinda weird to think that Fort Smith, Arkansas was once the Mecca of G.I. Joe arcade cabinets.

Oh man that is too cool. I'm a huge arcade game fan and have visited new age Barcades in Oregon, Los Angeles, Ohio and Iowa among others. G.I. Joe is one game I have yet to see on the floor. Played some Captain America and The Avengers in Salt Lake City last year and just played an emulated The Punisher in Los Angeles.

I was lucky enough to stumble onto a board a few months ago on eBay. Won it without any competition from a dude in South Korea. Really awesome, but so short on free play. Do yourself a favor if you ever get the board or full cabinet and set a continue limit of 3 quarters or so. The worst thing is that amazing side art is impossible to find. The people with a cab for it refuse to or don't give a hoot to scan that masterpiece for posterity. So it's not available from the art reproduction sites or even made free for all to get printed on their own. A real bummer. My search for a konami cab to put my board in or a full cab with game continues.
