Survival means adapting. And adapting likely means letting go of the collector, at least for a time.

Yeah, but it still comes back to the same ol saying "It takes money to make money" I see it if Hasbro doesn't put any money into cartoons or marketing, then its a matter of time for GI Joe is killed off! I mean look at Transformers Prime is doing great! TMNT is awesome, hell even My Little Pony is taking off...again! So Hasbro REALLY needs to do something and quick for boost Joe sales or their just relying on us collectors to keep the line alive?
They put money into Resolute (both the animation AND nearly half a dozen new figures), they put money into Renegades (which, when new, was seeing almost as much promotion as Transformers Prime on The Hub). They've continued dumping a LOT of money into a toyline rapidly loosing retail support (If Hasbro didn't own GI Joe, the Skystriker and Eaglehawk would NEVER have happened with any other brand). Sad fact is that Joe simply hasn't been as successful as Hasbro feels was needed to justify the money being put into it. For all their efforts, including getting MULTIPLE live action films produced, GI Joe has continued to fail at capturing the kid audience that allows them to do such crazy stuff in TRansformers (or Star Wars for that matter)
