Well, I found out today, that I took one in the proverbial ass from the Collector's Club. I received an email in October that the second billing would be going through. I changed my CC info with my new bank account through the web site. A couple weeks go by and no billing. I received another e-mail around the first of December to update my CC info if need be. I ignored it, because I had updated it. It also said they were working on the next wave of figures. Stupid me, figured I would get billed when they sent the 3rd wave. I have tried numorous times to get into my account on the site. I kept getting an error. I waited and waited and the next email said biling Jan 21st. Well, I finally got a number 18174489863. I called to see if both remaining installments were coming out on the 21st. WELL, the reason MY ACCOUNT don't work, is they didn't get my CC info updated and billed a defunct account. They said, well, we sent out an email to make sure your account is updated. and that I had a week. They won't reinstate my subscription. But, I can get the figures as a club member at higher prices if any leftover stock. Gee thanks.....Anybody else been a victim of this? I want the figures, but I'm NOT paying about 500.00 counting shipping, and what ever I have to pay on e-bay for the secret 13th figure. What a bunch of crap!!!!

Sorry to hear about that....but it's pretty bad on their part to not just reinstate you. Their site always seems to have some glitches, and their emails are spotty. You always hear people posting "I never got the email..." in threads here. I should go check my billing info now, too.

This exact thing happened to me on the very last shipment and I didn't get a Cover Girl due to it. And now she's so expensive she's out of reach for a while.

I'm a fan of the club, but I have to say their policies on these things make me very nervous. They don't seem to understand that's about the last thing you want for your customers to feel. I decided last time to not do installments just because of this possibility... but I know that's not an option for many. I just don't understand why they can't just "pause" your sub.

This happened to me on the last FSS. And the very next shipment was the two figures i wanted most.. Big Boa and Cover Girl.. so now I don't have either. Big Boa's prices are way too high on the secondary market. I didn't bother with this one and decided that i would try and snag the figures i want out of this one and pick up the others when they drop in price, much like Grunt and a few others did in the first one.

Wow, that is down right awful on GIJCC part. I am sorry to hear they did that to you. This is just another example why I say Long Live brick and mortar toys. Getting GI Joe through a subscription service stinks and this is just another good example why I will always try and support buying figures in stores

First, you updated your card info and neglected to re-check the account to verify the update (Please correct me if I'm wrong on this). You knew that your card didn't get billed yet you waited. The club sent a reminder email yet you ignored it. You couldn't access your account after you tried "numerous times" yet you continued to wait. How long did you wait from the time you knew you weren't billed to reach out and contact the CC via telephone? Weeks or months? Dude, I'm sure you're a nice guy and you mean well, but you should really step back and take responsibility for yourself instead of blaming the CC. BTW, missing out on some toys doesn't qualify you as a victim. |
