If I had to pick between the 2, which was worse, I'd have to say Cobra La. But, in truth I liked both Cobra La and the Valor vs. Venom line. The fact is that Cobra has always been about cheesy science fiction and I'm ok with that. I actually like it.
It all started with Cobra Commander's "hair dryer" laser pistol, and went on to bring us gems like SNAKE battle armor, Dr. Mindbender, battle android troopers, Crystal ball, bio vipers, toxo zombies and on and on and on... VvV brought us the much desired and in demand Bombstrike character, as well as shockwave, which some are army building at FSS prices. The rare ROC Kamakura figure can trace its roots back to VvV as well as the FSS Jinx. The latest FSS Desert Scorpion got his robotic scorpion from the VvV line, there are plenty of gems left in the VvV line, and I look forward to them. Especially, now that figures like Retaliation Roadblock, Shadow Tracker, Night Force Repeater, and Big Boa are so large, I can't wait 'til they remake a truly huge and monstrous Venomous Maximus. New Cobra La figures, especially Pythona, would be cool too. |

They showed disrespect to hawk, no one does that to him...
I hate both films, Cobra Commander in Valor Vs. Venom was terrible his voice actor just didn't capture Latta's voice. Both films were stupid sci fi fiascos that should be forgotten. Don't remind me about the figures... Cobra La contradicted my childhood storyline, where Cobra wanted America out of the way, as government didn't intervene, like how in the comics Dan was killed, and CC broke down from that, along with how he viewed the court having a bias on the ruling, and how he felt the american way was useless and was hurting more than helping. Cobra-La was just terrible. No word for it. Last edited by CrackerJacks; 01-07-2014 at 12:40 PM.. |

I've always considered all the various Joe adventure themes to just be alternate story lines. You as the fan can pick and choose what version of existence you prefer or just simply create your own. The characters can basically or loosely be the same but their adventures and bio can always be different. I never really considered GI Joe to have any solid concrete canon of events because there has always been so many incarnations of it's universe.
I personally have always preferred a more fantastical spin with all the Cobra-La, zombies, aliens, monsters etc. It just always seemed more open and fitting for GI Joe the 3.75" line. Some guys prefer a more real world aspect to the franchise and I get that also. I like a little real world mixed with my "other-world". Honestly, the whole Eco-Warriors (minus the Toxo-Zombie) and DEF story theme was a big bag of buttholes in my book. I mean Deep-Six came with pink flippers and a dolphin. |

I understand that there a lot of people who can not stand Cobra La. I like the characters actually, I loved the figures when I was growing up. I understand the movie was not perfect by any way shape or form but it was still entertaining.
