I lost my 25th Bazooka. He was riding shotgun in a Blackhawk with Flint. I put them down, he fell out and I've never seen him since. I turned up the room where he was. Even after we cleaned the house out after moving, he was never seen again.
<--my avatar is his pic. ..so I opened up another package. I'm now down to one loose complete and one carded 25th Bazooka.

Gawd that's the worse...it's one thing to have a good idea where you lost something but the complete vanishing act...

There was a large construction site just a block away from where I lived as a kid. They were building a flood wall and had several huge mounds of gravel. I thought it would be cool to take some Joes and dig a huge cave to use as a base. It took me hours to dig it out; but it was so big I could actually fit inside it!. I was setting up my Cobra forces on top of the "cave" to attack the Joes inside when the whole thing collapsed! It was getting dark and my Mom's rule was I had to be inside by sundown. It took forever but I scraped and dug out all my Joes and their accessories( Polar Battle Bear, Scarlett, Gung-Ho, Doc, Snow Job, Snake Eyes, Major Bludd and my Cobra Troopers ). I was getting very nervous because the last figure I found was Snake Eyes; and an all black figure in the dark is hard to see! But, I recovered everything. I got home late and got yelled at for coming in after dark, but I had all my Joes and I did not really care about the lecture.

Luckily others don't like it so well, I was able to get a total of three for $5 each. I'm glad it wasn't my SDCC Footlose or POC Lowlight...

You sir are one of my heroes!! My aunt lives in NC. and her driveway used to be all sand. I used to build firebases and avoid cars each summer. It was said if anyone came by to visit they had to honk to make sure they didnt get me or my toys. If they did, (which was rare) it was off to the store for a relpacement. But all those summers I never lost a Joe. Hot Wheels all the time but never the Joes. . . |

I once had a Green DG Shipwreck, I presume he was sat on my desk (as often was the case), my 2 year-old daughter likes my GI Joes and likes moving things around (or taking then off) my desk. Shipwreck is now MIA.
I turned the house upsidedown a few times - looked in my Joe boxes, all the cupboards, etc., in my office, in my daughter's bedroom and playroom, but no sign. Perhaps one day this lost soldier will make his way back home.... |

I had a massive sandbox when I was a kid that me and my brother used for a Joe battlefield. We also had two cats who used it as a giant liter box. Some times we would find a Joe, sometimes a cat poop...

Actually another pretty good bet would be to look in my wife's wardrobe in her shoes, boots, bags, etc. which my daughter loves to take out and arrange when the door's left open. You never know I may one day hear cursing and have Shipwreck thrown at me after my wife removes him from the bottom of her foot |

When I was a kid I would play joes with my neighbor. I love ninjas and once traded a weird figure for the '88 SS (and something else for my ninja viper DOH...idiot me). However, I also had the orange Slice too and one day I was looking for him and couldnt find him but when I went ouside to play joes the neighbor had a orange slice which he didnt the day before and this was before he would even have time to get one at a store. So, I see that he has it so when we go inside I act like I am looking for mine. I keep looking and I get all sad and start talking saying stuff like "Man that was my fav figure, if someone took it I would never forgive them" yada yada yada. Well I guess it made him feel bad cause he said "Here you can have mine". heh. jerk.

I would mess with my joes in bathroom while taking a crap as a kid. I dropped one in the tolit while there was still a poop in there...I called my mom to come, and get the gun.she refused so I pinned the turd out of the way with the rod from the TP dispenser, and grabed my gun with the other hand.
Was a pretty tense moment...risking it sliding deeper down,or touching a turd..it was my favorite gun too,I wanna say a m16 looking gun with a strap. I didn't,and still don't care who's guns are who's. I just use the weapon that fits the figure for what I'm doing with it...in this case pooping, lol. |
