There have been some who have pushed the theory that Hasbro intentionally puts out bad product in order to milk the fan base.
Bludd using Zartan's body, and then being released in a multi-pack in perfection, or Flint being released with Duke arms, and then being re-issued with better arms, or Zartan being released in a DD costume and then later in his classic form, but with a bad head and a better head then being released in the Cobra #3 pack. What do you think? Does Hasbro intentionally release less-than-ideal product so that they can later get us to re-buy a nearly identical figure a bit later?

I can see where you're going with this.
Conspiracy, no. Some poor tooling choices, yes.

I would stop digging right now. You have no idea how large this conspiracy is and how high up the food chain it goes.
Walk away. While you can.

If you look at American industry in this country, there hadn't been a lot of culling of the herd. be it from protectionist policies or something else, companies haven't had to be optimum to survive in the marketplace. Now, with increasing global trade through the explosion of the internet, these companies are no longer flexible enough to put out a product that is competitive or high quality. There's always an upheaval of corporations before products start getting good again.

No. Yeah, it's poor choices. But they don't know it's bad until the fans speak out. Then Hasbro goes(most of the time)back to give us what we want.

It is not a conspiracy, it is just business. When the fan base speaks out and lets them know how they feel running changes can happen. Just realize that changes happen in all toy lines and are not done to harm but to help improve.

I don't think it's a conspiracy, but they do have really bad tooling choices. Don't even get me started with the Hit & Run we're getting. Some tooling choices are so obvious that I don't understand how Hasbro can't get it right (or close) the first time. I think with Collectors being the only/main ones supporting this line, Hasbro gets characters out there just to have them on the shelve for our sake. But we all know Hasbro has us by the short and curlys, and they know this. "Don't get right the first time, let's do it right and throw them in a pack with other figures they don't want."
Remember it's all about money. |
