Its interesting but in order to make the metal molds you will need a machinist or this company? Its a neat Idea. If you have a really original product you want to make and make a lot of.
For Joe customizers on the other hand...well black market swipes of originals may run into some legal trouble for the mold maker and with the mold making being so technical I could see that being a problem. |

I can see 3D printers also as they get more popular being limited in some ways with what they can and cannot copy.

If you have a unique item that you want to produce, then you will need a custom mold. A big advantage is that expensive steel molds are not required with this machine. Aluminum molds or even epoxy molds work fine.
We use a local company: Herrmann Engineering (Services and Ads) They both design molds (often from a simple sketch) and then fabricate them using CNC equipment. Their prices to design and fabricate a mold typically start at $500, but you should contact them for an exact quote. Or any local machine shop should be able to make a mold for this machine. $500 per mold? |

It's cool, but my only concern is you need a good mold to inject it into. How do you get the molds made and how much are those? I have been looking at the 3D printers myself as well as this type of machine.....very cool find....glad they got full backing looking forward to seeing them succeed.
