For a smooth pant maybe the style that the TRU Qucik Kick used? I beleive a couple of the SS frmo Ret used the same? Change out the sneakers with maybe the DG CC feet?

Kinda going for that. the Blue Pants, to represent the common soldiery of the Cobra forces. On the pants I was also thinking of a red stripe along the outside of the pant legs..sort of a Han Solo type of pants. The black boots. But I was thinking the coat all white, and add a mask that might be black for an NCO, and maybe a silver mask for Officer. The beret..I was thinking blue or red. I dunno. I don't want to many colors, but I would like to represent the traditional red/blue of cobra. On the coat I'd like to keep the shoulder braids as purely decorational. I was thinking about trying to find ranks to put on the sleeve. But I don't like the idea of using US Military ranks on the uniforms of the enemy. And instead of the blaring Cobra emblem that's stamped on the chest, I was thinking of a smaller one on the right and left arms/biceps/sleeves. The idea behind all of this is giving Cobra soldiers a ceremonial look, that might be kinda neat for a non-combat diorama. But I can't really find any figures that have the smooth torso/arms and legs that would represent a Dress uniform. Obviously everyone has battle dress uniforms with the ruffled pants and chests, littered with cargo pockets everywhere for ammo and or supplies. I was thinking of the old Gung-Ho figure in Dress Uniform..but..yeah. I don't see to many of those floating around. So as is, I'm just scouting out figures for the smooth pants/torso look..that could pass as a dress clothing. Crimson Guard seem to be about my best bet right now, as far as the torso is concerned. It looks semi- dressy looking. And if I went that route, and wanted to paint them white, what would be the best way to do that without the dark red of the uniforms sorta bleeding through? Multiple layers of white coats? Are there any characters that have berets as an optional head piece? Minus the actual head..I just want them as a hat.

Just paint a bunch of DG Cobra Commanders.
G.I. Joe Dollar Store Exclusive - Cobra Commander You may want to spray light coats of primer to reduce the amount of paint needed.

The legs from ROC & POC Cobra Commander might work, as well as the feet.
