In recent years I've found myself far more interested in Cobra than Joe. I don't collect the current action figures, but I build Lego minifigs of Cobras and Joes, and have found myself most interested in the baddies for some reason. I have figs of both sides but have only built Cobra vehicles so far.
People talk about everyone having a "Joeverse" but for me it's like I have a "Cobraverse" but little in the way of a "Joeverse". I think about Cobra organization, leadership, the endless question over the role of the Blueshirts compared to the Vipers and that kind of thing. At the same time, I don't spend much time thinking about Cobra High Command or most of the Cobra individual characters, let alone any of the ninja stuff. Does anyone else find themselves focusing their fantasy "Joeverse" in a particular area? Or are most of you Tankers into a bit of everything Joe-related? |

They take me over there, right behind that wall and past the door...
My Joeverse is really based on what figs I make, I have no qaums about inserting other lines into my Joeverse, for instance am working on an MU Rhino (actually think he was in the Spidy 3.75 line) as a Cobra Experimental soldier

^^ like above through the years I have foumd myself favoring cobra figures over most joes. When I was a kid playing I never even had cobra, I always used corps figures has my enemy. But in my current joeverse I troop build cobra trooper. But my Joe army I prefer a realistic army look. I prefer all my soldiers to look alike and prefer bbi or pte vehicles for their real look. I also build in smaller groups 10 to 20 depending on how well I like the figure

In my joeverse, Gi Joe is an offshoot of the U.S. military that was betrayed after the people who funded it wanted to cut the program and kill them all. The remaining soldiers who survived followed cobra commander and cobra was eventually created, and then a new GI JOE team was created out of urgency to hunt them down.
Thus in my world, Cobra is made up completely of GI Joe defectors and eventually every Gi JOe in my world will eventually join cobra and get revenge. |

It takes me to a fun fantasy world with super villains holding political power, and having meetings just to party and bitch at each other.
My Joeverse in the last few years has grown to include Marvel Universe, Transformers, Venture Brothers, vintage DC figures, and even Power Rangers. They all display together nicely, and the best part is having all those ridiculous villains all gathered together. My own little Guild of Calamitous Intent if you will.

I've seen lists here on the tank that really go into how huge GI Joe is. That's not how I envision it. My version depicts it as a group more secretive and clandestine than Delta or Seal team six. Best of the best, whispered about by other top military service members, but never confirmed. Or made public.
