I'd watch it only if it had the RZA on it evey week. No really, if it was on HBO or showtime where people get killed, then maybe.

So, what every body say, is that the idea is good-worth a try but the execution would probably be lame. Unfortunately, I cannot disagree with you. agents of shield isnt a tv series based on a children's comic? I am not sure, but I ve always thought that children were the main audience for the comics of avengers, batman, gi joe etc. |

I'd like to see something like this. Maybe based on the current IDW series would be cool.

I think most people would be indifferent. There would be no way they'd have the budget to make it in the same style and over the topness of the movies. making it just a show like "the Unit" or "Strike Back" or whatever would just make it feel like it was GI Joe in name only. I don't really think it would do any disservice to the brand but I don't think it would do anything for it either.
Hasbro's best bet IMO is to just pump out movies as quickly as possible. I know people tend to debate their love or hate for the movies but they both did very well in theatre, digital, and dvd sales. Maybe not transformers, batman, and avengers numbers but still very good.

If a G.I. Joe series were to happen, I'd want the whole ninja aspect out of the show. Only because it would eventually end up being the Snake Eyes & Storm Shadow Show. I already hate these two characters for being the Wolverine of the brand. I don't see G.I. Joe as a network (ABC, CBS, NBC) show, it wouldn't last a whole season. It would work better as a cable show.

Maybe not transformers, batman, and avengers numbers but still very good. Do you tihnk that hasbro would-could go for a movie every two-three years? Would that be helpful? I believe that all of us would see a good gi joe TV series. The question is if a gi joe TV series would help-boost the sales of the toys. In other words, would a children friendly, action packed but with simple stories TV series attract the children and raise the sale numbers? Would it create more fans? |
