I have zero friends into it. I know some star wars and gaming guys but zero Joe guys around where I live now ( Nazareth,PA). I guess its partially to blame on not living in my hometown anymore but I find it hard to make friends with the same interests. I feel like I'd get laughed at if I told them my hobby is violet ting action figures and comic books.
Anyone else have this issue? Any advice? Hell...anyone from pa wanna grab coffee and discuss issues 72-77 tonight? Quote:

Nope no friends into collecting anything and TBH I wouldn't bring it up unless asked specifically. OTOH my 2 year old daughter is quite keen on action figures - there's the usual Octonauts, but also some PTE and random Chap Mei divers (which I gave her) that she's very pleased with (there are always divers in the bath, usually being eaten by sharks, dinosaurs or even large rubber ducks!)
She also comes into my office/playroom and rummages around on my desk (and even in the cupboards) to see what figures she can find - 'we' seem to have lost a DG green Shipwreck somewhere along the line.... it'll be interesting to see where she left him if he ever turns up! |

I used to work with a guy who was into the AT era but other than that I haven't had any friends who are into GIJoe since 1987.

My local comic shop owner is a ME collector. I'm a ARAH collector. We both read the comics. We chat it up like old friends every time I come in the store. We occasionally hung outside of the store too.
Another now good local friend I met through ebay. He was selling and I was buying (sideshow Collectibles Joes). We became great friends and we've even traveled to the last two Joe Cons together. Another guy saw my "3DJoes of the 80s" poster in another local comic shop and contacted me through Facebook. He's become a big help building 3DJoes.com Local GI Joe fans aren't easy to find, but when you find one they're very like able guys!

None of my friends are into Joes.
I do have one buddy who collects a bunch of comics and some action figures, and another who just moved away who is big into figure collecting but not Joes (although he is often tempted when I show him all the awesome accessories each one comes with). |

None of my best friends collect anything. The one came to visit this summer and was floored by how much stuff I have, he took pictures of everything to show his co-workers/friends back in TX. My buddy and his son from FL saw my collection for the 1st time this year and were impressed. No negitive feedback, just jaws dropping! LOL
I've ran into a few collectors around my town, but don't really have time to hang out...I work usually 50hrs or more a week and always have things w/ the kids going on. So I just have the Tank community and that's enough. |
