I need like a box with a 2 part closing lid that could hold like 200 gijoes, divided into 100 for cobra 100 for joes. then maybe 2 or 3 areas for weapons. Anybody know of anything? some kind of perfect tackle box or something?

I use a Okeechobee Fats T1200 Series tackle box. It comes with a whopping 8 large utility boxes with removeable dividers and a ton of zippered pockets. I'm able to fit 24 per box, doubled in slot. Its a huge bag that might find on clearance at Walmart.

Menards Builder Supply used to sell these storage units that mount to a wall. They had 60 small drawers, probably for putting in screws, nails and small hardware....But they were just long enough for a joe and weapons. You can print off labels and assign drawers to your figures. My pal and I bought many of these to store our figures and have affectionately dubbed them as Joe-Morgues. Menards stopped carrying that particular style but I've seen similar ones at Fleet Farm. They work great for organizing the collection. I do need more, however, seeing as my collection continues to grow.

These can also be used to separate & store figures. theearthtoymall on ebay has 19 available http://stores.ebay.com/TheEarthToyMall
Or you could get a couple dry storage waterproof plastic ammo cans. And fill those with individual clam shell figure cases. Or you could slide in 3-4 Plano storage boxes. (most department stores and sporting goods stores have these) This would work like a large tackle box but with a military look. Then slap a bunch of GI JOE stickers all over it. Wow, I just found a Star Wars Custom Painted Clone Wars Ammo Box on ebay. I found this while searching for ammo boxes: Item number: 270268829240
Check it out, apparently someone else had the same idea of using a dry storage ammo box. This is a great way to protect your figures, especially if you live in an area that gets hit by floods! Last edited by sweeper; 08-29-2008 at 05:27 AM.. |

Me too. I stored my joe comics in a .50 cal can.
I use these for my Indiana Jones figures, which reminds me I have to order more: Material Handling > Storage > Parts Chests and Boxes > Box,Plastic Parts : Grainger Industrial Supply but this is closer to what you are asking for: Material Handling > Storage > Parts Storage Systems > Cabinet, Parts Storage : Grainger Industrial Supply
