I liked Flint/LJ more, because it wasn't as "in your face" as Scarlett/SE. I'm sorry, but that relationship always seemed forced to me. It didn't seem like a natural relationship. Don't know how to explain it. It was like they said "we're going to have SE and Scarlett together" and everyone was like "okay, no prob" and just forced things to make them together.

I wonder if it would actually be easier for a unit like GIJoe, which I would use Delta Force as their model. Since these guys would be older more accomplished soldiers, they may join the unit in their late 20's early 30's. About the time to start getting married. They would not be on long deployments since they are only put into use for particular missions. So they may only be gone for a few weeks at the most.
Of course your spouse would always wonder if you would ever come back since it's such dangerous work, and if Cobra ever finds out you have a family. Faghettaboutit. (Unless your family is the LaFitte family) |

(Unless your family is the LaFitte family) The Joes do have the benefit of not having deployments. They don't go overseas for months at a time (exception being the FLAGG crew). The Joes go out on the mission and come back, usually a week tops (month at the most you figure). So that would help them out as well.

I thought it was, if can't fit in your seabag your not allowed to have it. Or if the military wanted you to have a wife, they would have issued you one. lol

I dont think they got the memo, for I see a lot of subtle sexual content in the cartoon! I remember lots of sexual innuendos, implied sexual encounters (like with Lifeline and that spoiled rich girl), women put into dangerous situations dressed in lingerie or disintegrating clothing. Of course, this was not unique to just the G.I. Joe cartoon - the 80's was a hot bed of implied sexual hanky-panky (you dont see a lot of that in cartoons anymore, which is a real shame).
More to the point, Destro and Baroness were making out on camera before speaking to Cobra Commander for crying out loud. There was no slight innuendo about it, they were embraced, smooching and making noises of indiscriminate pleasure, or what passes for pleasure while snogging on a metal mask.

Were Destro and the Baroness the only confirmed relationship in the cartoon? I can't remember Lady J and Flint ever kissing, just flirting.

Yeah, Baroness/Destro were the only confirmed. They were kissing on the boat in Pyramid of Darkness as well.
