I had been wanting to get the tattoo for about 3 or 4 years and finally broke down and got it yesterday. It's right on my forearm where it should be. It is smaller than I wanted but I love it. If you want it on your shoulder then get it there. I've seen other people that have it on there calf, shoulder, back, forearm. It'll look good about anywhere you put it.

if you want to talk being a poseur - how is getting the tattoo and not being a ninja NOT being a poseur? I mean, any of us getting a clan tattoo who is not a fictional martial arts action figure is - in strict semantic terms - a poseur thing. I mean, we're drawing some pretty arbitrary lines here The way I see it is this: Getting the tattoo is a pretty stark declaration of your adoration for the line and the lore. I would counter that the place where you get it should be where you feel most comfortable with having it - for whatever reasons. Discretion. Work. And that decision has nothing to do with a perceived sense of propriety or obligation. Want it on your forearm? Go for it. I couldn't get it on mine because of work - and I don't really want it there to begin with. I'm going with upper back, between shoulder blades. Its a nice symmetrical spot for a nice symmetrical design imo. But I've got to feel good taking off my shirt to show it off haha I will be getting it once I lose 10 more pounds. My goal was 60 to get back to my high school weight/build and I'm 50 into it. And this was going to be my reward for hitting my goal. So we all have our own reasons and places and to start declaring one person a poseur over another because of where all us non-ninjas put a ninja tattoo is a bit of an artifice. Agree to disagree, I guess |

I have the clan tattoo on my forearm, in the traditional location; of course, my entire right arm is a GI Joe sleeve. The clan tattoo is like the center piece for me.
Pictures here: http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...oe-sleeve.html I say: Get it where you want. If you're worried about some sort of silly social stigma because of the tattoo being visible...then, don't get it on your forearm. Hasbro and DD ruined any chance of the forearm being the only locale for the tattoo to be, anyway...it's present on weapons, uniforms, and other body parts. If any real Joe fan gives you flak for having that tattoo -- or any tattoo, for that matter -- in a location they don't "approve" of...then, they can just get over it. It's your thing, man. Run with it. Last edited by SolidSnakeEyes; 05-23-2009 at 08:55 AM.. |

Your ink should be where you want it and not where others do. Its your body and you are the one that has to live with it. I have a few that I am tired of now and am going to get them covered. One on my shoulder will probably be covered by the clan tattoo.
Just my thoughts.
