So, first-world problem here: the "real working suspension" on the AWE has always bothered me because if you don't keep the weight off the wheels, the plastic suspension bits all inevitably deform (pretty quickly too). Actually, one of the things I dig about the Bumblebee AWE Striker is the lack of the working suspension. Anyway, I used to set my AWEs on a little raised box underneath the center of the vehicle to keep the wheels from touching down, but that's always been a pain in the ass whenever you move the toy. The Walmart Retro version from a couple of years ago comes with a cardboard shim for the rear suspension, and it's awesome because it takes the pressure off the suspension even when it's sitting on it's wheels. But that doesn't help with the front suspension, and I've gotta think of a way to do something similar that blocks the front control arms.

I wound some twisty ties in the "arms" of the rear suspension (I don't know the proper terminology) so they couldn't retract into the body very far. Looked ugly, but it was only visible if you picked it up and looked at the underside. I don't think I was aware the front wheels even had a suspension; I only worried about the rear wheels since they would rub against the undercarriage if it sagged.

I remember as a kid sticking some styrofoam pieces in the rear suspension to keep the back wheels from bottoming out.

I had a look at mine. If you can get axles off, you could use open up a paper clip slightly and hold it down with a very small zip tie or two on each side. And maybe a slightly bigger paper clip in the center of the front axle if needed.
