I'm not here about a current toyline. G.I.Joe is soo much deeper then 25th and RoC or even PoC or what ever the heck else they want to call it from here on out.
If it's here kickin' the snakes, hangin' skirts and enjoyin' the kinship of others who have had a similar past that has some modern day throw backs to it(25) I'm here for that. it is the people that i am here for. ..not just toys. my real toy is a 1971 Dodge Dart. the rest are for display called nick nacks It is impossible to reconcile the countless story lines, teams, eras, etc. Not one was better than the other because truth is that everyone thinks the ones they grew up with was the best and the ONE TRUE JOE. In 15 years, those who grew up with JvC and such will take the place of the Vintage era, relegating the old guard to the ranks of the Adventure Team. But this is not a bad thing, contrary to popular belief. What matters is that, through it all, there has and always will be a community of fans who, out of camaraderie and the kindness of their hearts, have shared information, ideas, opinions, and as seen as of late, emotional support. Joe cannot and will not die, no matter how weird it gets, no matter how many things get "cancelled", because 1) it'd be incredibly stupid for Hasbro to do so, and 2) as the Firefly fandom has shown, people don't let sh!t go. /tangent GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGGGGGG GH!!!

That's my basic attitude too. Some people get waaaaaaaaaaay to deep into this stuff.
This. You've got about a half a century's worth of mythos to dig through and truth be told, no one can really update or bring that stuff back; all you can do is add to it, give the new generation something to remember, like they did us. Most of you guys grew up with ARAH. My parents grew up with the Adventure Team (and still has his!). I grew up during the "dork age" of the 90s, and jumped in during JvC, SpyTroops, and VvV, and I feel those lines, in spite of their flaws, were just as good as anything from the "vintage" era. It is impossible to reconcile the countless story lines, teams, eras, etc. Not one was better than the other because truth is that everyone thinks the ones they grew up with was the best and the ONE TRUE JOE. In 15 years, those who grew up with JvC and such will take the place of the Vintage era, relegating the old guard to the ranks of the Adventure Team. I feel where you're coming from...I just wish we had more tolerance in the Joe fandom, or at least more on the Tank. |

I'm willing to bet that said group of people are going to keep bitching at SEGA until they have no choice but to pull the plug, because they [the fans] are just that effing stupid and petty. They'll be the death of the franchise, I know it. But yeah. Tolerance. People need to learn to adapt.

Hmm, I admit i wasn't aware of the sonic fandom drama, as i don't really care for the sonic franchise myself, but i do enjoy fallout but wasn't aware there was a fandom or the drama there in.

i guess it just irks me that intelligent joe fans turn into raving DBags over some perceived line in the sand between Their GIJoe and everything else...like it's some kinda zero-sum situation and their joe cannot exist if another iteration of the joe franchise does.

Tenken, Talisman...
Intelligent people argued over why the world was flat and sailed it. Now... as for both comments about SEGA Entertainment.. I've been with Sega followings since the Mastersystem hit stores. I still have my original 8bit system. The Hedghog series wasn't my favorite, but I did enjoy the first 2. My favorite has and always will be Afterburner, and OutRun. But that's me. Like many things on the tank here.. we have a diversity of fans who all like the same yet many different levels of things as well. From DC to Marvel Comics, hell even Disney and Pixar stuff. Like what you like, not because someone else likes it and wants you to do the same... But like the stuff you like, because You find it worthy of your attention. Currently my worth is building the livin' crap out of iconic models. heh. I`ll be back after the car show guys!

This.
I own some of the Sgt. Savage figures (always wished I'd found the rest at the time) and about half of the Extreme line. |

I think ROC was historic for the Franchise giving us a cohesive unit in modern military unit camo is quite cool in my opinion. It is supposed to be a military team unit after all and the issued camo brings that about.
