With G.I. Joe Retaliation coming out for download and home video on July 16th & 30th, we will see the final two waves of figures on the unpopular Retaliation red/black packaging, as well as the Eagle Hawk and hopefully, the Night Landing.
The future is uncertain for our favorite brand beyond the fall. Will the line only continue through the Club and the various cons throughout the year? Will it resort to discount chains like Dollar General or Ross? Will we get another great series like Pursuit of Cobra? Or will we not get anything until G.I. Joe 3? Will G.I. Joe transition to something completely different, like we saw with Sigma 6? Let's discuss.

I went with G.I. Joe Collectors Club. I agree, they should go on hiatus after the Jinx/Night Viper wave.

Dollar General figures seem like they would have a chance. The waves don't have to be big and the figures could be made for repaints. Just depends on if they are happy with how the toys moved since it seems like some locations they fly off shelves and other locations they don't move quickly.
A GI Joe 3 line of toys seems like a given. Retailers seem to always demand movie toys so I'm sure they will pressure Hasbro for a line. But with no cartoon and it becoming questionable about Hasbro pushing the brand in the no movie years I'm just not sure if we will get anything other than club figures until the next movie. |

I voted that a Tanker will win the Powerball and buy a large share of the GI Joe brand. Large enough to where he make Hasbro give us the figures we want. In other words I voted other.

Bring back renegades! There has been talk that the series had several more years planned in the beginning. Im afraid that Joe may fall into the movie franchise realm and only produce new product when a new movie rolls around, and from the looks of it there will only be one more at the moment. Other franchises are launching animated series to keep their line going, just look at marvel is doing. They are launching multiple series and doing direct to dvd releases on multiple characters. While the G.I. Joe franchise works with all of its characters together, I think there is defiantly some depth to the idea pool for bringing Joe to television in another animated series or dvds. Im no marketing director, nor I claim to be but I really hope that the line doesn't suffer between movies. Hasbro just might have plans on the books or ideas in the works, but until they announce something I think the community will question the future of joe. I think we will just have to wait and see.

I was watching Renegades with my son today. It's a great show! Bring it back and kids WILL buy the toys. There are still so many figures left out as toys (Destro, Baroness, Flint, LJ) |
