how do you know it wasn't intentionally drawn as hair? the animators could have decided from the start that it was hair and kept it like that through the series.
IMO, anyone insisting it's a hood in the cartoon are just being stubborn because they know what it SHOULD be, although it's clearly not. |

This is amazing that it is still going on.
Unfortunately, I hadn't watched GI Joe cartoons since I was a kid which ranks me below rookie when it comes to arguing these points. I was in the camp that said it was a hood. I never questioned it as a kid because I knew the toy and read the comic...not to mention that I was so used to errors (person's gloves being flesh colored, for example) that I would have filtered those "mistakes" out while watching the show. RR (and others) have shown (at least for me) enough proof that somebody in employment on the animation team thought it was supposed to be hair. This thread was interesting (only because I'm the kind of adult who is interested in the mistakes made during movies) but it can also be blamed for a lot of wasted energy. The only ppl to answer this question once and for all would be the animators or their bosses. All of this energy should be used in tracking those ppl down and getting the answer to the real question that this thread has produced (at least for me): "Was the hair-hood thing done on purpose or was it a mistake?" If you think that proposal is ridiculous and requires way too much energy, congratulations on now understanding how the rest of the site probably looks at this (what seems to be) endless back-and-forth. |

No, really, I'm indirectly asking for a call to action that some of you w/ this amount of passion do the leg work I don't care enough about the subject to do myself. (This post and the previous one were not to be taken seriously. I find myself posting a disclaimer a lot around a select few. My bad, again. I need to learn to stop.) |

It was totally hair in the cartoon, original intent or not. I was shocked when I finally got a Zartan toy in the late 90s to see that he didn't have hair but some weird hood. Obviously I get it now, but I can also distinguish between continuities. Some people just don't think that way.

Its a hood that has hair....maybe a wig maybe Pubic hair grown in a jar in some lab......Does it matter anymore.....he wears a Hood...regardless if the people who drew it thought other wise....The toy has a Hood and the Comics had a Hood........
