The MOBAT would appear to take design cues from the MBT-70, a joint German/American tank program that failed to go into production, but ultimately led to the M1 Abrams and Leopard 2 main battle tanks.

Main gun on the Mauler is much closer to the RDF experimental gun. I agree that the profiles, especially turret lines, are quite similar to the XM1.
