How many of you guys still actually "play" Joes?
Ive been browsing through all the Dio pics recently and it made me want to have a full on battle like I used to do as a kid, not just for pics but to actually play. I remember taking an hour or so just setting up the Joe and Cobra HQ's, coming up with a mission, and then outfitting a team with the gear they would need. |

I will admit I do, given I cant have full out all day battles but, I will have little sessions on my desk or what not. Now when the wife and kids go to her sisters for a weekend Saturday is playtime. I find it that to be very stress reliving, do not know why but man it leaves me feeling good and worry free.

when customizing I will fall into the "play" habit once in a while, other then that I have my 10 yr old son to blame it on when I get caught having huge battles with him.
I will say that it does indeed feel good inside to revisit that time in my life, even if for a brief few moments here and there.

My play has just become more epic. As a kid, my joe wars often ran over into Darth Vader joining Cobra (back when he was cool) and I always saw Boba Fett and Firefly as brothers. Nowadays I set up full blown wars that include mu figures but no more Star Wars. And I love having wrestling matches with the new lines. Nothing tests flexibility like a northern lights suplex or octopus hold. They're leagues above the new wrestling toys.

I try to. But you know I am so busy and I don't want my girlfriend to hear me making funny voices.

Remember that scene in Star Wars A New Hope when Luke is cleaning the droids and he's playing with that little model of the T-16?
That's about as far as I "play" with my collection. |

Anytime I am setting up a new dio, I do exactly what you said. I group the teams up, outfit them and deploy onto whatever mission I can think of. As I set them up, the mission progresses though my head and I alter the battlefield accordingly.(I play it out with my figures...gun sounds and battle cries included). normally in my backyard. in the grass and around the pond.

every time I set up the dioramas for my diostory, before posing the figs and taking the necessary pics for the next episode, I always spend sometime playing with them.
so relaxing and fun! |

It's been years since I've "played" with my Joes.
