I would love to see a thread like that. I have tried over and over to become a sponsor on this site, and I finally just gave up.

So it would be like an "Angie's List" for Joe's. Or "Joe's List".
I think I might just put good word's in my signature from now for anyone that I have a good purchase with. Whether it's a big site or an individual. |

In a way, I can understand why the site doesn't want that information posted here. They have nothing to do with anyone that purchases something from an outside retailer (even if it's a sponsor) and by having a thread about such things, it might give someone the idea that HISSTank will help you get your money back or be responsible when things don't go right.
Also, while we don't condone "promote threads" (the "Hey, I cast stuff, my store is here" or "I'm running a bogo at my site" sort), we've never (as far as I'm aware) blocked anyone from promoting in their home site via a sig (as SWG is doing) or showing off their work in the customs section. Quote:
At the same time, I think that something like this can only HELP on a community level, so that if 3 out of 5 people have a bad experience with a retailer, then people should probably know enough to steer clear of that store or website.
Particularly in regards to casters, we've had several who've generated a LOT of unnecessary drama due to their actions (or inactions) to the point said castors basically can't post anymore without it becoming a complaint thread from unsatisfied consumers. We really don't want that drama, and that is probably why several threads have "disappeared" for some. That said, we've never discouraged (as far as I'm aware) inquiry threads on the performance of "real" online shops like our sponsors, or those who've developed a solid reputation (like Marauder John). Again, most of the headaches have been from "garage stores" like the castors. I have asked for an admin to chime in on this as well.

I also understand the promotional aspect, but was wondering if a thread on a specified feedback section would be promotional. Thanks for the feedback though. I was just trying to figure out something where we could have more info without it being a pain in the backside for you guys.

Not sure where the lack of support came in? Quote:
Obviously paid sponsors can get special treatment, like being front paged often.p. But this type of collectible is a niche market and the people here are ideal clients.

Hisstank doesn't have an obligation to actively support these types of people but they shouldn't infringe on their ability to promote their products either. There is nothing posted in the rules that SWG or anyone else cannot advertise a sale for his/her side business.
http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...ease-read.html 5. No private store advertising. Quote:

Basically this.
The issue is that, to be frank, Hisstank, as a community, really hasn't shown a maturity to handle such things in a responsible manner. Particularly in regards to casters, we've had several who've generated a LOT of unnecessary drama due to their actions (or inactions) to the point said castors basically can't post anymore without it becoming a complaint thread from unsatisfied consumers. I definitely understand the drama aspect of the issue. That is why my suggestion was to make it lake the feedback thread so it didn't show up on the main board.

I can't promise that I'll have an answer for you immediately, but I can promise that we'll get the ball rolling on this tonight. I'll post back up here in a few. |

Thanks so much! I love and support the idea that order numbers be supplied for good and bad. That should cut down on many shennanigans.
Am I right in saying this could be structured so it stayed off the main feed? I really believe that would cut down drama considerably.
