I am not hardcore collector...Just a casual fan picking up some 25th figures that I think are cool to look at and remind me of my childhood.
I cannot believe there are some among us that will steal, repack, and return things to make a few dollars.

I have a Cobra tattoo on my left arm (got it in 1999). That earns me my street cred right there.

My personal definition of "hardcore" is pretty easy to meet: If you care enough about a property to hop online and discuss it with like-minded people on an internet message board, you're hardcore, particularly compared to the rest of society.
Certainly, some folks can be more "hardcore" about it than others (see tattoos above) but all it really takes is a level of interest well beyond the average person. I think sometimes "hardcore" gets confused with "purist." They're not quite the same thing. Someone that loves every aspect of Joe (up to an including Sgt. Savage and Extreme) can be totally "hardcore" just in a different way from someone that (for example) thinks that anything outside of '82-'88 Joe shouldn't exist. |

I'm a hardcore Transformers fan & a casual GI Joe fan. I can enjoy GI Joe without buying all the toys. I have to buy & collect Transformers / Gobots/ Rocklords/ Voltron! My weakness is transforming robots!
(and non-transforming robots, can't resist B.A.T.s!) |

I dont buy everything but I do feel I'm a dedicated collector. I've been collecting since 82. last year for my 10th wedding anniversary my wife had a $600 dollar custom gijoe ring made for me.
