I'd say my amounts of troop builders makes me hardcore. That, and my love and passion for the brand.

My personal definition of "hardcore" is pretty easy to meet: If you care enough about a property to hop online and discuss it with like-minded people on an internet message board, you're hardcore, particularly compared to the rest of society.
Certainly, some folks can be more "hardcore" about it than others (see tattoos above) but all it really takes is a level of interest well beyond the average person. I think sometimes "hardcore" gets confused with "purist." They're not quite the same thing. Someone that loves every aspect of Joe (up to an including Sgt. Savage and Extreme) can be totally "hardcore" just in a different way from someone that (for example) thinks that anything outside of '82-'88 Joe shouldn't exist. I totally agree with this. When I pick up my phone, the first place I look is my Joe forums. I would add to this that hardcore Joe collector's are not fickle. Those of you who hop on board and throw money around, only to leave the hobby in 2-3 years and/or during the most recent dry spell of retail product because something else caufht your eye would not fall into my definition of hard core. But let's remember something else: "being hardcore" doesn 't mean you have to piss off your family/friends and lead the life of a stereotypical Hot Wheels collector, either.
