Do you feel that the 25th line is killing the resale value of original ARAH items? Do you think that the newer release items are of better quality?
Personally I would have paid the premium vintage price for a Hiss, Rattler, Stinger, Conquest, Sky Hawk, Trouble Bubble or any of the other re-issues but now I don’t feel I need to buy the vintage any longer. I had a conversation recently with a few other collectors and they seem to agree. I remember the original Sky Hawk and, well let me say, I like it much more than the ARAH vehicle. Why would I pay a premium price for an item that is, in my opinion, inferior? This also extends to the figure too. I have been comparing my newer figures to the old ones and I like the newer line better. So what do you feel?

Yes to some extent.
Like you said, you can buy a "better" version of a lot of classic vehicles today for cheaper than eBay prices (usually)! I think the prices of MISB and MOC ARAH will go up though. Since the loose are not that special anymore, people will start wanting sealed versions. Then again, more interest in GI Joe (via 25th/movie/etc) could lead to a higher demand for anything Joe related, and thus drive the prices back up.. I imagine there will be a spike around the movie launch when lots of 30-somethings see the movie and suddenly want to replay their childhood (we got a head start!) and start buying up all Joes they can find (since the movie ones dont have that emotional connection). So yeah.. maybe!

Yea I have seen the loose vintage stuff go down some especially if it has been re-released. A lot of the vintage toy stores are lowering prices on said items too.

I hope the interest picks up, but with all the hate from so many on this board, the movie may not take off. If it doesn't then the opened vintage market will take a bath. Come to think about it that would be good for us collectors. We will get great deals on stuff that no one can get rid of, at rock bottom prices.
I love capitalism,

That may be true. Well at least one thing will come out of all the re-issues (possibly a bad thing). No one will be paying for their kids College out of the sale of their collections.

Yeah thats true, or they'll bottom out, people will sell them on the cheap just to get rid of them, then 25 years from now no one will have them anymore! I had a lot of baseball cards from the 80's and 90's and then people said they wouldn't be worth anything because EVERYONE was collecting them, and now no one has them because they we're worth so little for so long.
