I dusted off the old Terror Drome the other day to play with my 4 year old. He loved it, especially the elevator. When you got the Terror Drome as a kid, did GIJoe constantly have to attack it every time you played after that?

I love pushing people down the firebat shaft and having them get cooked by firebat exhaust when the firebats take off.

We did a lot of ninja raids on my Terror Dome. Lots of Cobra characters wrapped in blankets because my damn house had no heat except for a wood stove.....gotta love Maine winters in the sticks....
We did a few James Bond style deaths in the Firebat lift....like many did.

Remember when Sarge and the Renegades invaded the Drome w/out weapons, you know, "to keep it interesting"?

I was 10 when I got my Terror Drome on my birthdayt in 1986. It kinda made up for me never having got a USS FLAGG for Christmas. I had alot of fun taking mine outside and making a "Cobra Island" in my back yard! Unfortunately, the sun is no friend to a plastic fortress. I had to do some re-painting after that summer. Some of my chairs are still broken, but I had a great time having GI JOE attack Cobra island...
I would like to finish restoring my Terror Drome and maybe add some lights!

You know I heard that there were plans for a "Cobra Island" playset back in the 1980s, but they scrapped the idea when the FLAGG didn't sell well enough. I read about it in the Serries 2 GI JOE trading card set. Of course if "large playsets" didn't sell well in 1986, then why did they green light the Defiant in 1987?!?!?!?! I would have much preferred a Cobra Island playset to the Defiant Launch complex... What say you?
