You know, no matter what a retailer charges, if you want it bad enough you'll pay it (unless you are an a-hole repacker). Luckily for me I've never paid more than 7.50 for a Joe figure. Do I think Joe figures such be 5.99 or less? Yes, but then I realize this is not 1983, it's 2009. I thank God I have a well paying job that I can efford my little plastic crack addiction, but most the time I buy Joes with tips I get at work and stuff I sell. Though the day a single cost $10.00 I would seriously have to rethink my army building tactics and repaint purchases. Here's hoping $8.99 singles for the movie line doesn't bite Hasbro in the @$$

There is a time frame for which I pay retail but after a couple months of not finding somehtin in stores I will pay a comic book store or ebay premium just to secure it. I learned the hard way with the yellow stalker.

That's right, my first Star Wars figure was $2.00 at Venture in 1977. As for the new Marvel line I am passing unless the price goes down to 5.99.

I remember Joes being $2.98 at TRU back in 1982! I also remember the $1.99 price tag on SW figs in '77.
Honest opinion, I think SW figs and Joes should be $5.99 ($6.99 at the MAX). The lack of articulation you get with Star Wars is made up because Hasbro has to pay a pretty penny for the licensing fee. With Joes, you get Super Articulation (a Star Wars figure term for what is seen as standard for Joes - except Lady Jaye) on every figure but there is also a LOT of re-used molds. The 25th line wouldn't be what it is if Hasbro made new molds for most figures. Retail would be $9.99 if that was the case. Hasbro no longer has the petroleum excuse it had last year. Gas prices are down so they can make plastic and ship toys for cheaper rates compared to the oil price gouging of '07 and '08. Toy prices need to drop based on that and the economy. Sell more toys to make the money.
