What surprises me is the state of the economy and how these manufacturers/companies are RAISING prices? WTF? I'm well aware of the fact that a lot of people are still buying them, hell I am!
Have to agree with many of the responses though, if it's a figure you really want or is worth the cash then I'll pony up the funds. However, I won't be buying the ones I wasn't super interested in so that I can afford the others. |

When I first saw 25th Anniversary Joes on sale for $6.99, I didn't touch them. Why would I spend my hard-earned cash on toys... even if they look great and remind me of my childhood. Then, I saw the Joes at Target for $4.99. That was it, I bought the whole shelf and haven't stopped since. Now that I'm hooked, I'll pay $6.99+ to get my fix.

At $5-6 I'd have every Marvel figure.
At $8.50, I have Iron Man, Punisher and will get Captain America. That's it. ------------------------------------------------------- GI Joe: At $4.99 I army built the hell out of several Joes. At $5.99 I army built the hell out of the BATs. At $7.99 I'm only buying select few. ---------------------------------------------------- Transformers: At $7.77/$7.99 I bought every Deluxe fig on the shelf, repaint or no. At $12.88, I haven't bought a single one of the new Animated or Universe figs, and I won't buy any of the Revenge of the Fallen Deluxes. (Prices have yet to change for Voyager and Leader class figs). ------------------------------------------------------------- Mighty Muggs: At $10.99 I'm only getting select few (GI Joe, TF, SOME Marvel). I can't justify the (huge number of) Star Wars ones at that price. ------------------------------------------------------------- _______ Heroes: When they were $4 or $5 I bought a ton of Robot Heroes (TF) and some of the Marvel ones. At $6.99, no dice. I haven't bought any post-'07 TF Movie ______ Heroes except for the Barbecue/Storm Shadow Combat Heroes (because it's Barbecue). I'd buy the others, but no way at that price. ------------------------------------------------------------- Specialty Movie/Comic figs: At $15.99 I only bought Johann from Hellboy 2 and Rorschach from Watchmen. Bring them down to $9.99 the way these things have been for years and then we'll talk about me buying the rest.

My habits have definitely changed. I am being much more selective and picky about what I buy. I've also cut back on how frequently I go hunting, partly do to crappy store restock, but also to help reduce the temptation to buy.

I accidently bought a tagless Wolverine origins figure at Walgreens for 10.99. I will definitely pay more carefull attention to the prices of future purchases. As was stated, though, Joes are worth more in my opinion. Accesories and articulation equals money. As does paint. Both are sentence fragments.

The articulation is not as good as the old school Marvel Legends. Not worth 8-10 bucks.

when you know that you could not effort it anymore, then that is time when you say to yourself "IT IS TOO MUCH." and that exactly Hasbro is doing right now. I call it Murphy's law.
