Fellow tankers, I ask of you...
As far as collecting MOC, which modern VARIANT would you consider the best investment? (Not so much for a profit were you ever to sell it, but an investment in order to complete your sets.) Clear WRAITH? Yellow Stalker? SE w Black Timber? Gung Ho anchor? Shipwreck shark tat? CC buckle? All those gazillion Zartan variants? (i could never figure out which is which!! LOL) About EXCLUSIVES... what do you prize the most? Gold PDD, Silver PDD, Blue CC, RRP??? Voice your thoughts and share your knowledge!! Last edited by CaliBeachhead32; 03-01-2009 at 10:24 PM.. |

I agree with ultramax - do not invest in toys - resale value is not good. Take it from someone who sells them for a living.
Collect it because you love it.

but as we collect, the elusive figs and their price tags come into play. we go after the variants to complete our sets, but then we're faced with the price tags. are they really worth it? should we bypass them altogether? |

best varients to invest in are vintage, in my opinion, the 25th varients are not going up in price as far as i know, if anything they have dropped, or stayed the same. seems like SE with black timber has gon down quite a bit, ive seen a few sell between 60-80 dollars in the last few weeks, these varients are only good investments if you found them at retail. just my 2 cents.

CLear Wraith is the only variant you need to have. A modern age Tron clear sculpt on a figure with all that articulation and the head reveals the human inside? Brilliant! Brilliant!

Real investment or not. Like most of you said toys are meant to be played with. I collect mocs and misb on vintage and modern era toys because I like em and also liked the way it looks. I don't resell them but collect as much as I can. In my opinion, the real investment would be the quanity a figure was made so in my book, it would have to be yellow stalker and RRP because who knows how many yellow stalker were made before they changed it to green. As for the RRP, most of you know that 1000 was made which I personally find that hard to believe since there are thousands and if not, millions of joe collector out there and hasbro only made 1,000??
