I've wanted the whole collection since I was seven years old and that never went away.

I think it's mostly childhood nostalgia at this point.

id say my joes take me back to my years of innocence.
the sheer joy of no responsibility Hours upon hours of playtime where i could create my own world my own storys. My own adventure . I grew up in a household with 5 brothers and 2 sisters . So money was very tight and i always used to go collect cans just to feed my collection just to get the latest joes just to have em destroyed by my siblings. now my display case i look at it everyday and wish i was young again just to play with em. But i cant thats why i know i love the kreos it lets me use my imagination by building and customizing its a hand on expericence not just buy it look at it display it. And now i dont have any one messing with my stuff although for my son its an open door policy just as long as he plays gentely with them and hey if they get ruined i by a new one . cant be that selfish but truth is hes 12 now and lost interest already

Like others, nostalgia. We did have a few joes as kids but my brothers always loose their weapons every time they played with them. I was the unofficial storage manager, but I never had one I could say that was really mine. It was either sharing from my sibling or borrowing from friends. I even hated one kid for having a tool box full of joe parts, just dissambled joes limbs, we couldn't even afford one for me.
So back to current years, collected some vintage and modern. I let my niece play with them and already lost a few missiles. Happiness for oneself, that drives me |

I like the military aspect of GI Joe, and that's what I tend to gravitate towards. I don't care as much for the sci-fi aspect. I collect now mainly for nostalgia, as I did have a pretty decent collection back in the day, but I also like to get cool military-themed figures.

G.I. Joe didn't influence my decision to become a Marine and I don't go for the super realistic military look, but I did learn quite a bit from the file cards and I do like the look of the more military looking Joes.
Of all my toys, Joes mean the most and my best memories of toys are Joe related. Now, I get to pass them on to my boys (my daughters' interest in the toys has passed). |

That difficult to achieve balance between military realism, James Bond-style adventure/bad guys, and sci fi that GI Joe did so well between 1982-1985, and varying degrees of success thereafter.

My '06 Ford Fusion?
All kidding aside, I like G.I. Joe because it definitely is nostalgic but at the same time the ME stuff is so much more detailed and just cool. Also, midlife crisis...? |
